Normally, one might assume a bit of bias when a film about someone is made by the subject’s granddaughter, but Taylor is a Peabody Award and multi-Emmy-winning cinematographer and director. She learned well that the photographer is not what Emerson called the “transparent eyeball.” The camera may be a mechanism, but the photographer brings his or her own vision and life experience to the process of grabbing lightning.
