The documentary, Dorothea Lange: Grab a Hunk of Lightning, was made and is narrated by Lange’s step-granddaughter, Dyanna Taylor, a Peabody and Emmy Award-winning cinematographer.
It features newly discovered, 1960’s interviews and verite scenes with Lange from her home studio in the San Francisco Bay area, as well as work from her groundbreaking, one-woman, 1966 career retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in New York; she died shortly before it opened. Also featured are over 800 works by Lange and her two husbands; Taylor’s father, Ross, was the son of Lange’s second husband, Paul Schuster Taylor, a professor of economics at the University of California at Berkeley .
